Reflections on peace - p22

We are precious to God - Mathew 10:29-31.

'Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.'

We are precious to God.

Therefore, we can have peace.

As we know, God will care for us.

Father God, how beautiful is your grace. By your mercy, through Christ, we can have confidence that we are precious to you. We have great value in your eyes. You so lovingly command us not to be afraid, not to let the temptation to worry overcome the peace we have in you. For we can have peace in you, knowing we are precious in your sight, and you have promised to care for us.

Lord God, fill our hearts and minds today with the peace that comes from knowing we are precious in your sight. Guard our sinful minds from overthinking, worrying, and hiding away out of fear. You are in control of everything; you know us better than we know ourselves, and we are so precious to you that you sent your Son to die for us so we could be with you in a perfect new creation forever.
