Reflections on peace - p21

An unchanging God - Numbers 23:19.

'God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?' - Numbers 23:19.

God is unchanging.

He will keep his promises.

In Him, we can have peace.

Heavenly Father, most holy Lord of all creation. Your promises of forgiveness, a renewed relationship with you, and eternal life in a perfect new creation are life-changing. Trusting fully in them brings unrivalled peace.

Because of who you are, Father, we can be confident you will not change your mind. We can be confident that you will keep your promises.

Lord God, we praise you that you do not lie. You do not change your mind. When you speak, you follow up with action. Your promises are trustworthy and true.

Father, give us a deep sense of peace firmly rooted in your promises. Knowing our peace is secure as you do not change.

P.S. - To anyone reading this, put your hope of peace not in yourself or your circumstances but in the trustworthy promises of God.
