Reflections on peace - p19

Christ will give you rest - Mathew 11:28.

'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' - Mathew 11:28

There is hope,

Christ will give you rest.

Glory be to our God. Most gracious Lord, most loving Father.

God, we thank you that you want us to have peace.

Lord, if you want us to have peace, we can be confident we will have peace. You, Lord, are all-powerful; you speak and it is so. Father, help us to trust that we will have peace because You are the one in control, and you want to give us rest.

Father, if your desire is for us to have peace, how wonderful will it be to have life to the full with you in the new creation. Eternity with you, our loving Father who doesn't want us to be worrying and does want us to be at peace.

Gracious God, help us to trust that when we come to Christ, we can have peace.

The joy of eternal peace in the new creation to come.

Peace with God as His children in Christ.

And a progressive peace as we are transformed, to find rest in God, and to accept rest from God.

We don't need to despair about our lack of peace.

There is hope,

Christ will give you rest.

Fully in the new creation and

more and more fully now,

as we come to Him.
