Reflections on peace - p17

An ever present hope - Proverbs 23:18.

'There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.' - Proverbs 23:18

We can have peace as

We have an ever present hope.

I often find I feel far from peace when I feel far from hope. When the future seems hopeless, I can be quick to feel anxious.

But through Christ we have an ever present hope that will not be cut off. When I feel hopeless it is not because I have no hope, but rather that I have lost sight of the very present hope that I have in Christ.

I may think and feel all sorts of things but that doesn't make them true.

God is faithful. He has forgiven all my sins, past, present and future. He will bring me to a perfect new creation with Him forever.

I have an ever present hope.

Lord God, when I feel hopeless and far from at peace, help my forgetful heart to remember the hope I have in you. Help me to set my eyes again on the new creation to come and the confidence I can have that my hope will not be cut off.

Let my peace not be broken by my feelings of hopelessness. For I have an ever present hope.
