Reflections on peace - p16

God is good - Psalm 119:68.

'You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.' - Psalm 119:68.

God has promised to care for us.

God is in control and

God is good.

Therefore, we can have peace knowing we are safe with Him.

Gracious God, you alone are good. All your ways are perfect. You hate evil and love good.

Because God is good, we can be confident that whatever we are going through will be for our good. In this life, we will still experience the brokenness of the world and humanity. But the all-powerful God, who loves us and has promised to look after us, is a good God. Therefore, we can be sure that He will not put anything in our path that will not be for our good.

We are broken and flawed humans, and so our ideas of what is good will also be flawed. Therefore, we don't need to fear when we can't understand how what we are going through is for our good. We can hold onto the truth that God is good. He cares about us. And He has promised to work all things for our good.

Holy, Holy, Holy God. There is none like you. Your ways are just and pure. Let us delight in your goodness. Let the knowledge of your goodness fill our hearts and bring us peace.
