Free from guilt - 1 John 1:9.

Peaceful photo of flowers on a bible

'If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.'

1 John 1:9

Our sins are forgiven,

We can be free from guilt

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of heaven and earth, how great is your love for us. Through your Son's death and resurrection, we have been washed clean.

Once we were dead in our evil ways, slaves to sin. Now we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

Father, when you look at us, you see Christ, but we so often hold on to the guilt of our sinful ways. Open our eyes, Lord, to the truth of your gospel. Help us to see that your death and resurrection are enough. Fill us with confidence that you really have forgiven our sins.

We can stand before you as your children, knowing that through your Son we have been washed clean. The price for our sins has been paid, and we are free.

We don't need to hold onto our guilt. We don't need to let our shame consume us, for we are forgiven.

There is freedom in Christ.

Lord, help us to take hold of the life you have given us by your grace. A life free from guilt and shame. A life bought by the precious blood of Christ.

Father, bring us peace.

Amen

P.S. - To anyone reading this, in Christ you are chosen and precious. God bless you and keep you.

Love and prayers,

Joshua
