What we've been up to
Getting Married
October 21st 2023, the date we got married, feels like yesterday and forever ago. It was such a wonderful day, and we are so grateful to all of you who could be there to celebrate with us. Our wedding was followed by a lovely honeymoon made up of cottages, treehouses, and a water villa. It was truly incredible to delight in more of God's beautiful creation.
Moving to London
After our honeymoon, we settled into a lovely house in North London which, by God's amazing grace, we were able to spend 8 months looking after for a relative of a friend from Church. Throughout our time in London, I took on various online marketing and sales roles while Luci gained her Diploma in Health Studies. It was both a challenging and delightful period of our lives, one which God was very good in using to bring us closer to Him, each other, and our church family.
Our 10am Church Family
Having gotten engaged on the roof of St. Helen's Bishopsgate, we will always have fond memories of that church. But it was a real joy to become a part of their 10am church family. I praise God regularly for the way God used that congregation to keep our eyes fixed on Christ. Going to, and not being able to go to, the 10am service has increased our appreciation for the church possibly more than anything else. On a side note, a massive thank you to Luci's sister and brother-in-law, Krista and Adam, whose love, prayers, and support were an incredible blessing to us both.
Moving to Northampton
Though we loved many of the joys of London life, after a lot of prayers and thought, we chose to move back to Northampton. It probably won't be too long before we return; however, God has been very good to us in providing a wonderful opportunity to serve Him, each other, and the church in Upton, Northampton. The way our church family at Grace Church Upton has welcomed and supported us has been such an answer to prayer, and we are so grateful for all of you who have been praying for us over the last few months.
What's Next - Joshua
One reason for the move to Upton was to take part in a Ministry internship with Grace Church Upton, which I will be starting around the beginning of October. It will include a mixture of Bible training, word ministry, and practical church work. The aim of the internship will be to look into whether paid ministry work could be a wise path to take, help serve Grace Church Upton, and become better equipped for a life of ministry. We have already had the joy of getting involved in a few areas of ministry, but I will share more of that in the future.
What's Next - Luci
As well as doing an amazing job of graciously loving me, Luci is beginning some au pair work for a Christian family with 4 children, including a newborn. Luci's incredible patience and love for children, especially very small ones, means she is extremely excited to love, serve, and help these children grow to know God better.
Praise Requests
Praise God for strengthening our desire to glorify God with all of our lives.
Praise God for growing our commitment to love each other like Christ.
Praise God for providing us with church families to support and care for us.
Prayer Requests
Pray that we could maintain good routines of prayer, Bible reading, and meeting with the church family in order to prioritise our relationship with God.
Pray that we could continue to seek each other's good each day and be quick to forgive, as God has forgiven us.
Pray that we could be strengthened to humbly learn and serve with joy as we start our internship and au pair work.
A Final Word
Thank you so much for all your love and support. We keep you all in our prayers. Keep going, the Gospel is good, the New creation will be eternal perfection!
'I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.'
Philippians Ch1v3-6
Love and prayers,
Joshua & Luci :)
