A wonderful and challenging first term in God's word with God's people.

Joshua and Luci

Verse Of The Term

'But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God'

John 1:12

There have been so many wonderful verses we have looked at over the last few months, but this one has to be one of the most amazing.

What a wonderful blessing, what incredible grace! Though we turn away from God and deserve God's wrath, he has made a way for us to be his beloved children. Not through anything we have done or will do but through God's grace. It has been such a joy over the last month to get to see more and more clearly how glorious it is to be able to call God our father!

Give thanks for

Recently our church congregation moved both Sunday morning meeting times and venues. Praise the Lord the transition went well and for the past few weeks we have been meeting in the main St Helen's building at 9:30am. We have also nearly doubled in size from 120 to over 200 each morning. It has been great to have lots of new faces, from other St Helen's congregations, but also many people looking into Christianity for the first time!

I've also had the privilege of starting up two 121's in John and 1 Timothy. Praise God they have been a real encouragement. And the current plan is for them to continue in the new year.

Looking back it has been a real joy to get to spend time enjoying 1 Timothy, Philippians and John's gospel as whole books. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to devote time to studying and learning about what God has to say from these books. Thank you to all of you for your prayers and support.

One final blessing of this term has been clarity around pursuing working full-time for the church. Though the future is in God's hands alone, these past few months have greatly increased my desire to spend the rest of my life working for the church. I am very grateful for God helping me to grow in my love for being in the bible and sharing it with others, and I look forward to seeing what God has planned next.

Praise God for a lovely time seeing the family over Christmas.

Pray for

As we get going with 2026 Luci and I would love your prayers that we would be able to build up some really helpful habits that would equip us to serve God and the church for the next few years. Particularly, we would love your prayers that we would be able to get into good patterns of work and rest.

A few exciting things to pray for. Over the next few months I will be helping to run a ministry/bible study training program. Please pray that this could be a wonderful way to help those being trained up to serve the church, both in their relationship with the Lord and in developing their bible handling skills.

We'd also love your prayers for wisdom as we seek to figure out how best to love and support those people who are new to the 9:30. Please pray that we would be able to welcome people lovingly and help those looking into Christianity to see more of God's glory.

As we start to think about what the next steps will be for training for ministry work, please pray for wisdom and clarity. And also that we would be able to trust God in all of our thinking. We will keep you updated on our plans. At the moment the most likely option will be for me to finish off my 2 years of foundational training at St Helens before then looking for a ministry job in London.

Finally, it would be wonderful to start to develop deeper relationships with some of the people we've had the joy of getting to know. Please pray that we would be able to love and care for all those that God puts in our lives as we go into 2026.

Many many thanks for all your prayers and support. Please do let us know how we can be praying for you.

Love and prayers in Christ.

God bless,

Joshua & Luci.
