Judges, a potential cure for impatience and heavenly bodies.

Verse of the Week
'None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.'
Romans 3:11
I know it's an odd verse to find encouraging, but hear me out. Often, I find that my frustration, annoyance, or impatience can lead me to forget the peace I have in Christ. These feelings often come from me thinking I deserve better than what's happening.
I found it really helpful to be reminded in this verse that we have turned away from God, and so actually, we deserve eternal destruction. That means that enduring the small thing that has frustrated me is actually nowhere near as bad as what I deserve to experience. Having this change of perspective has helped me start to feel less impatient and more peaceful :)
Encouragements
It has been such a blessing of a week! From the joys of getting to really deeply study God's word together at Cornhill, to getting excited about the gospel at our first Christianity Explored session, to catching up with our St. Helen's 10am family, and learning about our amazing new resurrection bodies to come at their weekend at home. It has been quite a week.
Thank you so much to all of you who prayed for us this past week! God was so good to us in giving us a real sense of peace and joy throughout it all.
Also, my presentation at TEAM, my Bible training course in Cambridge, went really well :) I loved spending the time studying God's word, and I think God is really growing my ability to understand more of what He has written.

Prayer Requests
We would really love prayer that
God would fill our minds with the knowledge of God's grace and so lead us to peace rather than getting annoyed or impatient.
God would strengthen us to encourage each other to both rest well and seek to serve God with all the time and energy we can.
God would help us to encourage and build up all the men who attend the Men's conference with the joy of the gospel, as I help with the music and Luci serves behind the scenes.
A Final Word
What a joy it is to be one of God's children, nothing can separate us from His love.
'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' - Romans 8:38-39
Thank you so much for all your love and prayers.
God bless,
Joshua & Luci :)

Session 4 - The new beginning with Abram
God makes an everlasting covenant with Abraham

God blesses Abram's descendants despite their evil ways
There’s a complex and un easy relationship with God and his people
Understanding and teaching OT Narrative
God-given stories in the Old Testament about God!
Identifying different elements of how the story has been put together can help you understand it's purpose
Useful elements of a story
Characters - Description + Role
Scenes - Time + Location + Pace + Focus

Helpful ideas for understanding a passage
Having a plan for approaching a passage can make working through it a lot less stressful.
Often the message and purpose of a passage become clearer when you understand the message and purpose and structure of the book.
Thanks so much for reading,
I hope it has helped point you to Christ.
God Bless xx
