Verse of the Week

'Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.'

Romans 5:1

We have been so comforted this week to know that no matter what is happening we have peace with God.

We can be confident of this as our peace is through Christ and not based on us or our circumstances :)

Encouragements

As well as the joy of peace with God, we have been encouraged by our current sermon series on 1 Corinthians. Here are a some of our favourite truths.

Through Christ we have become blessed more than we can imagine! This can free us from the need to seek after the riches of this world and fill us with a joy for God's grace.

We can be free from the unhelpful judgments of the world and ourselves as it is only the Lord's judgment that matters.

God chooses to use us in our weakness to show His power and goodness. So we don't need to worry that our lack of strength, wisdom or capacity will stop God from using us. We can rejoice in our weakness as it shows Christ's strength. (Something we find amazing but also very challenging!)

A Little Update

It has been an exciting last week or two with lots of new roles and experiences. Here's some of what, through God's grace, we've been doing and some of what we've got coming up soon :)

The Past Week or Two

• Finished off 5 weeks of volunteering at an RSPCA charity shop

• Started a Ministry Internship with Grace Church Upton

• Supported our assistant minister with a local school assembly

• Helped with weekly Sunday kids work (Joining the dots kids)

• Started 'TEAM' a bible training course in Cambridge

• Helped with publicity for an upcoming Men's Conference

• Started helping look after some children from our church family

• Celebrated Luci's birthday

• Helped with publicity for a new evangelistic tots group (Upton Tots)

• Attended my first Church planning meeting as a ministry intern

• Started planning an evangelistic event for the end of October

  
  
  
  

The Next Few Weeks

• Sunday morning - We are helping with JTD Kids

• Wednesday morning - Luci is helping with the first meeting of an evangelistic Tots Group.

• 23rd October - Leading a TEAM small group study (On 1 Thessalonians)

• 26th October - Leading an evangelistic event (Bright Lights Party)

• 29th October - Joshua's birthday :)

• 7th November - We are helping host a Christianity explored course with our life group

• 8th-9th November - We are joining the St Helen's 10am on their weekend at home

• 16th November - Leading the music at a Mens Conference

Prayer Requests

It would be so encouraging if you could be praying that:

• God would keep the peace we have with Him in our minds and hearts as we start to do things that we may find more stressful.

• God would help strengthen us to keep trying to be gentle with each other especially when we are more tired or stressed.

• God would use us as weak and sinful people re the Upton Tots group and JTD kids team to help people know more of Him.

A Final Word

Thank you so much for all your love and support. It is only by God's strength that we can do anything, so it is such an encouragement to know that you are keeping us in your prayers. May the God of all grace grow in you the peace and joy that comes from knowing him.

'We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.'
