No.14 - Rejoicing in the Psalms

Verse of the Week

"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

Genesis 28:15

I have been amazed at the promises God made to Jacob, Abraham's grandson. Jacob was far from perfect, yet God promised to watch over and not leave him until he had fulfilled the many other amazing promises he had made. How gracious and loving is our God, that he would show such kindness to a sinful human.

Encouragements

It has been a lovely last few weeks enjoying celebrating Christ's birth, time with family and starting the new year.

However, I was very excited to jump back into my ministry internship and the last week has been incredible!

There have been two big exciting parts to this last week.

The first was starting a Preaching and Teaching Training group at Grace Church. It was such a joy to learn about the convictions behind preaching and learn about the gloriousness of God's word.

The second was attending an event at Cornhill Bible College London. Luci and I had the privilege of spending two days being taught how all of the psalms fit together and how to approach teaching them to others. It was amazing to see God's word come alive, and mind-blowing to see its depth and richness.

A Little Update

Here are a few things we've been up to and some of what we've got coming up.

The Past Week

• Enjoyed meeting up to encourage members of our church family

• Sunday mornings - Helping with JTD Kids

• Spent an evening studying a christian book together

• 5th Jan - Visited St Helens 10am Church Family

• 8th Jan - I spent some time helping an our evangelistic Tots Group

• 8th Jan - Luci and I attended Preaching and Teaching Training group

• 9th/10th Jan - Luci and I attended a two day event on the Psalms at Cornhill Bible College London

• 11th Jan - Attended a Men's prayer Breakfast

  
  

The Next Few Weeks

• 15th Jan - My TEAM bible training course starts back up for the Spring

• 16th Jan - Start back with our weekly Life group meetings

• 18th Jan - ReNew Breakfast - Gathering of local church leaders

• 19th Jan - Giving a talk on Mark at our Sunday kids bible group

• 26th Jan - Giving a talk on Mark at our Sunday kids bible group

• 7th-8th February - Joining the St Helen's 10am weekend away

Prayer Requests

We would love prayer that:

• God would not let us forget He is with us and loves us.

• God would allow us to reflect the grace he has shown us to each other.

• God would strengthen and use me as I start to get involved in preparing and giving more bible talks.

It has been such a comfort to us both to know you are keeping us in your prayers. Thank you for all your love and support. May God bless you and keep you.
